Hi, we're Nina and Heather. Welcome to CenPho.com!

History
In 2003, a group of friends began to use the word "CenPho" to describe our 'hood - partly out of affinity for our beloved Central Phoenix and partly to mock NoSco, NoNoSco, SoSco, EV...you get the drift.

A couple years later in 2005, as our love for CenPho was continuing to grow, we got together and launched CenPho.com and set out on a mission of discovery and adventure to become the comprehensive guide to the microcosm of the Valley of the Sun that is now known as CenPho. We documented everything from every hole in the wall and neighborhood watering hole, to chain restaurants, grocery stores and the location of every Walgreens.

In 2007, the Phoenix New Times called CenPho.com the "Best Place to Find Your Place."

Today
CenPho.com is now entering version 2.0 of its online life. The website will still be a guide to all things CenPho, but you - the residents, business owners and fans of CenPho - will play a much bigger role in helping to keep tabs on everything that is going on. And anyone who has spent time in CenPho recently would agree there is a lot going on!

Now, as a social network, CenPho.com is about OUR life in Central Phoenix.

Geography
The geographic definition of CenPho - or Central Phoenix - differs depending on who you're talking to. We define it as approximately Northern Avenue to Broadway Road and 20th Street to I-17, but sometimes we include businesses outside of that area if we feel they embody the "spirit of CenPho".
